Project Opportunity at Nestlé

Nestlé associates working

Led by broader Nestlé as a global effort, Project Opportunity is best known as our career acceleration initiative to help people gain work experience and strengthen their development skills. It's an unconditional commitment to training highly-skilled workers through unique apprenticeship, mentorship, internship, and development opportunities.

Much of our US efforts are focused on helping military personnel transition into civilian working life. We understand that the knowledge and experience that are gained in the military are a vital part of the solution to closing the skills gap in today’s workforce. That’s why we work hand-in-hand with our partners to support transitioning service members, veterans, reservists, and military spouses in gaining the right skills to become creative front runners in our company. Their talents and personal qualities – like agility, tenacity, courage, speed, and collaboration – can transition into long-term, meaningful careers at Nestlé.

The Most Rewarding part of working with our local Junior Achievement is spending time with the kids knowing that after five weeks of lessons, they have a better understanding of how a community works and their involvement in it. These students are so eager and willing to learn that it makes it a great experience.

My experience with Nestlé Purina has been very rewarding. I got the chance to learn the amazing science in Purina research center and how these scientific findings are translated into Purina products. More importantly, my laboratory at WashU has established an official collaboration with Purina to further explore the interplay of nutrients and metabolism.

We are inspired by the local youth in the area who express interest in STEM. One of our passions is to teach and inspire the next generation of manufacturing professionals. With the shortage of technical professionals in this industry, it is more important than ever to create programs and promote development, and provide opportunities for local students.
